Grand children visit
It has been awhile again but I thought I would add a few pictures of the fun time I had with my grandchildren when they came up to stay with me for a week, about a month ago. As you can see we went to the La Brea Tar Pits. They had never been before and it was free on the first Tuesday of every month. We took a lunch and spent most of the day there. The driving was the hardest part because of Los Angeles traffic. On the way
back we stopped at the beach to see the tide pools, because the tide was out. That was even as much fun as the tar pits were. We were able to see starfish and all kinds of sea life. We even got a little wet.
But every child comes water proof and all the sand washes off. They loved playing in a little stream that was coming out of the Santa Monica Mountains and running into the ocean. We didn’t build any sand castles this time while we were there but we did when we came back later in the week. These are just a few of the
pictures that I took with my new camera. The next day Wednesday we went Whale watching. We Got onboard the boat around 9 A.M and were gone until 1:30. We really didn’t get to see any whales up close, all we saw were the water spouts from a distance. I think Loree and Tony got a little sea sick. We were however able to see hundreds of dolphins, and sea lions.
It was cold and windy but we had a great time any way.
On Thursday we took the train and went to Santa Barbara. We walked to the zoo and discovered the crocked neck giraffe had died a couple of years earlier. The kids were very disappointed, but they loved the penguins, that they had there. They were real smelly. It was a long walk from the train station to the zoo. Then we found out later that we could have taken a shuttle for .25 cents. But if we had taken the shuttle we never would have found this wonderful park , that the kids loved playing at. It was an exhausting but fun day.

On Friday John was off so the grandkids wanted to go back to the beach. It was a beautiful day to be there and it was a lot of fun. On the way back we stopped at this cool store called Rocket Fizz. It’s an old time soda shop and candy store.
John, Loree, Shae, and Tony thank you so much for such a fun time. I loved every minute of it together with you.
